The Election Commission selects special observers in six states after reviewing the law and order situation.

The Election Commission is reviewing and evaluating the state of law and order, preventing illegal acts and seizures, and meeting with law enforcement officials from States and Union Territories. Additionally, the panel will go over the procedures for maintaining strict vigilance across national and international borders.

In order to ensure fair and impartial oversight and critical feedback for the upcoming Lok Sabha and assembly polls, the poll commission designated Special Observers in six states. The states that will hold simultaneous elections for the assembly are Andhra Pradesh, Odisha, West Bengal, Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, and Bihar, all of which have populations greater than seven crore. Along with strengthening the current election spending monitoring system, the Commission has also sent Special spending Observers to Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Uttar Pradesh, and Odisha to crack down on money power in elections.
