New Delhi: New Delhi marked the start of the B20 Summit India 2023. The subject of the summit is B20 India R.A.I.S.E: Responsible, Accelerated, Innovative, Sustainable, Equitable Businesses. India’s G20 Sherpa Amitabh Kant addressed the gathering today and noted that the country was expanding quickly and will soon overtake China as the third-largest economy.

He stressed the four main goals of creating a people’s presidency for the G20. Speaking about priorities, Mr. Kant stated that India is focusing on eliminating protectionist measures in order to forward the aim of robust, sustainable, inclusive, and balanced economic growth. He stated that among the other top goals are quickening the speed of achieving the Sustainable Development Goals, putting more focus on climate action and swift climate financing to boost growth in the global south, and women-led development.

N Chandrasekaran, Executive Chairman of Tata Sons and Chair of B20 India, stated that India is committed to equitable growth, especially in the Global South, in his introductory remarks. The future of the globe, he claimed, will be shaped by India’s rising trajectory. Seven sessions, including B20 India priorities and suggestions from India for the globe, will be held today on the opening day of the Summit. The Summit will be attended by a number of prominent global and Indian business figures, including Borge Brende, president of the World Economic Forum, and Michael Miebach, chief executive officer of Mastercard.
