Manipur: School in Manipur’s first through eighth grades began as usual. Since the racial unrest in the State started on May third, the schools have been closed.

Manipur has over 4,600 schools, but only about 100 of them could hold physical education sessions because they were also involved in relief efforts. After further arrangements are made, such as moving the relief camps or the students, the Directorate of Education (S) Manipur has decided to issue a separate order for the establishment of these schools.

Classes for grades XI to XII will soon restart as scheduled, according to Manipur’s Chief Minister N. Biren Singh.
