In order to provide a platform for institutional and technological cooperation in telecommunications, the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India, or TRAI, and the Centre for Development of Telematics signed a memorandum of understanding.

T K Rajaraman, Secretary of the Department of Telecommunications, spoke at the event and said that this collaboration would expand the fields of policy research, regulatory analysis, and information sharing about emerging technologies in the telecom and television industries. It will assist India in achieving policy-driven innovation, he claimed.
