New Delhi: A committee has been established by the Union Government to improve higher education institution evaluation and accreditation. The National Accreditation Council, which is envisioned in the National Education Policy, 2020, will need a road map, according to the Committee’s mandate.

According to the Education Ministry, Dr. K. Radhakrishnan, chair of the IIT Kanpur Board of Governors and the IIT Council’s Standing Committee, would lead the committee. One of the biggest and most varied education systems in the world is found in India.

The role of accreditation in integrating quality assurance into higher education institutions’ operations is crucial. Through a thorough assessment process, accreditation helps higher education institutions identify their strengths and deficiencies. It also acts as a trustworthy source of information for the general public, employers, and students regarding the calibre of education provided by the institution.
