Colombia: Mirabai Chanu, an Olympic silver medalist, earned silver in the Colombia 2022 World Weightlifting Championships. She defeated China’s Hou Zhihua, the champion from Tokyo 2020.
Zhihua lifted a total of 198 kg, while Mirabai lifted a combined 200 kg. A gold medalist at the 2017 World Championships with a lift of 194 kg, Mirabai now had two medals to her name.
Jiang Huihua of China, whose total weight was 206 kg, won the gold medal.
