India and Finland emphasise the establishment of a joint working group.

New Delhi: In a variety of sectors of bilateral and international importance, India and Finland have decided to take their mutual cooperation to a new level.

Petri Honkonen, minister of education and culture for Finland, met with Dr. Jitendra Singh, minister of science and technology for India, today in New Delhi to discuss ways to strengthen their bilateral collaboration in the areas of science, technology, and innovation. The two countries decided to expand their collaboration in areas such Digital Partnership in Future Mobile Technologies, Future Information and Communication Technology, and Digital Education.

In addition, cooperative working groups on topics of importance to both India and Finland were emphasised as being institutionalised. The Finland Minister praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi for managing the avian influenza pandemic and the government of India’s efforts to ensure the development of vaccines and vaccination for all citizens while Dr. Jitendra Singh reaffirmed India’s commitment on partnership even in start-ups.
