New Delhi: The national capital region is projected to see severe cold wave conditions for the next three days. The minimum temperature is expected to be around 3 degrees Celsius in Delhi and the surrounding parts of the national capital, according to the India Meteorological Department. The next five days will see heavy fog and poor visibility in Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, north Rajasthan, and north Uttar Pradesh, according to the weather service.

The lowest temperatures across the northwest and adjacent central India are highly likely to drop by 2-4 degrees Celsius during the next two days, according to IMD, because of north-westerly winds from the Himalayas over the plains. Beginning on January 18, there is a chance of mild to moderate rain or snowfall in Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, and Jammu and Kashmir.
