New Delhi: Swachh Toycathon, an unique competition to create toys out of wastes, will be introduced by the Housing and Urban Affairs Ministry today. Individuals and organisations are both welcome to enter the competition to build innovative toys out of dry waste. It will concentrate on effective designs that can be produced on a bigger scale and toys that meet the minimum requirements for safety. The MyGov platform for innovative India will serve as the competition’s host. The initiative’s knowledge partner is IIT Gandhinagar’s Center for Creative Learning.
Due to the nation’s robust economic growth, increased disposable incomes, and numerous inventions for the younger generation, the demand for toys is expanding. With the aim of making India a hub for toys on a worldwide scale, the National Action Plan for Toys 2020 was introduced to promote the Indian toy sector, including traditional handicrafts and handmade toys. The National Action Plan for Toys is now being implemented in various ways by the Department for Promoting Industry and Internal Trade and 14 Central Government Ministries.
