New Delhi: Import limitations on laptops, tablets, and personal computers have been implemented by the Centre and are effective immediately. The government declared in a notification that these goods could be imported with a current restricted import licence. On the other hand, import licence requirements are waived for one laptop, tablet, and all-in-one PC, including those acquired through postal service or courier, and through online retailers.
Up to 20 items per consignment are also exempt for testing, repair, return, and research and development. Additionally, if the item is a necessary component of a capital good, it is exempt.
