There are almost one lakh vacant posts in the nation’s paramilitary forces.

New Delhi: 1126 of the more than one lakh open positions in the nation’s paramilitary forces have been filled this year. The remaining positions fall into several categories.

The Ministry of Home Affairs, its organisations, including CAPFs (such as Border Security Force, Sashastra Seema Bal, Central Reserve Police Force, Indo-Tibetan Border Police Force, Assam Rifles, and Central Industrial Security Force) and Central Police Organisations (including Delhi Police), have approximately 1,14, 245 open posts as of right now, according to a written reply submitted to the Rajya Sabha by Minister of State Ajay Kumar Mishra.

3075 of these posts are in group “A,” 15861 are in group “B,” and 95309 are in group “C,” according to him. Of these, there are 16356 schedule caste posts, 8759 schedule tribe posts, 21974 other backward class posts, 7394 economically weaker section posts, and 59762 general category posts that are unfilled.

He continued by saying that, as of 2023, job postings for roughly 31879 positions had been issued, of which 1126 had been filled. The Ministry periodically assesses the hiring process to make sure that open positions are filled promptly.
