Kolkata: At the Raj Bhavan in Kolkata on August 17, President Droupadi Murmu introduced the “My Bengal, Addiction Free Bengal” campaign as part of the Brahma Kumaris’ “Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan.” The President remarked that drug usage is a problem for society and the nation while speaking at the event.

Youth are unable to make the proper life decisions as a result of these addictions. This is really concerning, and we must address it from all angles. She claimed that spiritual enlightenment, medicines, social cohesion, and political will can all help to improve the situation. She was grateful to groups like the Brahma Kumaris for raising these challenges and attempting to find solutions.

The President claimed that peer pressure and mental stress can contribute to the development of any addiction. Addiction is unhealthy for you. Addiction can also lead to a variety of other problems. Drug abusers’ loved ones and friends go through a lot of hardship. She asked all young people to inform any friends who were addicted of their addiction.
