Lok Sabha Elections: First Phase Sees An Uptick in Campaigning

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, a senior BJP leader, will travel to Chandrapur, Maharashtra, to assist BJP candidates running for the Lok Sabha seats of Gadchiroli and Chandrapur. Leading members of the Mahayuti alliance in Maharashtra and the state leadership of the BJP will be present at the public meeting at Morwa Airport Ground in Chandrapur.

The incumbent Gachiroli Lok Sabha member, Ashok Nete, is running for the Gachiroli Lok Sabha seat, while state forest minister Sudhir Mungantiwar is running for the Chandrapur Lok Sabha seat. Pratibha Dhanorkar the wife of former MP Balu Dhanorkar from Chandrapur, has been fielded by the Congress, while Dr. Namdev Kirsan is running for the Gadchiorli seat.

On the 10th of this month, the Prime Minister will also participate in a campaign for Raju Parve, the Mahayuti candidate, in the Kanhan area of the Ramtek Lok Sabha district. Mr. Parve is running on the Shivsena symbol from Nagpur rural for the Ramtek Lok Sabha constituency. On this month’s 19th, elections are scheduled for five constituencies in the Eastern Vidarbha, namely Nagpur, Ramtek, Chandrapur, Gadachiroli – Chimur, and Bhandara – Gondia.
