Dehradun: Many of us are interested in learning more about the inside and outside of the prison without a case. Simply put, it can’t since we are unable to travel there. But those who choose to do so can do so at Haldwani Jail in Uttarakhand, which offers amenities.
To provide lodging for tourists seeking a true prison experience, work is being done to renovate a portion of the former Haldwani prison.

The Haldwani prison was constructed in 1903, making it older than a century. Now, a portion of the structure that once housed the old armoury and six staff quarters but was abandoned is being prepared to house inmates. Officials frequently gave the jail instructions to permit recommended individuals to spend a few hours in barracks.

The unused areas are being renovated to become suitable lodging for “tourists” who wish to experience what a night in jail is like. An undeveloped area inside the prison that may be turned into a mock jail to house “inmates” for a night for a charge of Rs. 500.
