In the men’s javelin competition at the Diamond League Meeting in Zurich, newly crowned world champion Neeraj Chopra came in second with a throw of 85.71 metres in the final round. Chopra, 25, who is also the current Olympic champion, produced three legal throws measuring 80.79 metres, 85.22 metres, and 85.71 metres. Jakub Vadlejch of the Czech Republic, who had taken home a bronze at the World Championships, came in second place.

With 23 points from three meets, the Indian superstar—who had gone undefeated this season until yesterday—qualified for the Diamond League finals, which will be held on September 17 in Eugene, Oregon, USA. Last year, he had taken home the Diamond League trophy.
