Himachal Pradesh’s assembly elections are now in the polls.

Himachal Pradesh: Elections for the Himachal Pradesh assembly are now taking place. The voting period, which started at 8 AM, will last until 5 PM. For 68 seats, 412 candidates, including 24 women, will compete in the Assembly elections.

On Saturday, 55 lakh people are expected to participate in this one-phase election in Himachal Pradesh. Congress and the BJP are vying for every seat. The Bahujan Samaj Party is running for 53 seats, the CPI(M) is running for 11, and the Aam Aadmi Party is running for 67 seats. 99 Independents are also running for office, and there are other parties running for 45 seats.

While the Congress is attempting to gain power, the BJP is aiming to maintain power in the state, reversing the trend of an alternative government in the state since 1982. Up to 1 PM, there was about a 37.19% overall voter turnout.
