Graphic Designer

Roles and Responsibilities

The Image Editor will modify client-supplied photographic images, and will create new graphic design images, for use in Amazon product listings and brand stores. Responsibilities will include:

  • Using image editing applications to remove backgrounds, to create white background images
  • Cropping and zooming in on existing images to create new images that show the product at the correct size
  • Adding scale measurements to jewelry products, to match client-provided product specifications.
  • Superimposing earrings, bracelets, rings and necklaces onto images of models, in proportions that match client-provided product specifications, to show shoppers the proper dimensions when the jewelry is worn on the body
  • Modifying images to add curves to necklace chains, add shadows to skin, etc., in ways that look realistic
  • Creating graphic design images for size charts, promotional ads, and other purposes, using fonts and colors specific to individual client preferences
  • Saving all images with proper file names in proper online file storage locations
  • Saving images in the correct file format to prevent color-shifting online
  • Interacting with internal managers and support staff in English (both spoken and written)
  • Communicating with managers and the operations team to request information, images, and other needs
  • Following through when problems are identified to make sure they all get fixed
  • Proactively communicating about any needs, roadblocks or issues with meeting deadlines
  • Keeping track of tasks & progress in a way that others can pick up where you left off in case of illness

Desired Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will have…

  • Excellent English and Hindi language skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to work 5 days a week including the ability to work from 8am to 1pm Eastern time Monday through Friday
  • A reliable internet connection
  • A computer
  • Image editing applications
  • Experience editing images for ecommerce use
  • Experience superimposing jewelry onto model images in such a way that the viewer cannot tell they are photoshopped it needs to look completely realistic
  • Experience editing jewelry images to correct metal texture and shine, very specific metal and gemstone color, and gemstone clarity & refraction
  • An understanding on how to determine proper proportion of jewelry on the body, based on jewelry product specifications
  • Experience using Google Drive, Dropbox and other online file storage tools
  • Perfectionist-level attention to detail to be able to find and correct discrepancies
  • Excellent organization skills, and initiative to keep track of many different tasks/responsibilities and see them through to completion.
  • Intuitive fast learner with good common sense
  • Ability to accurately estimate time needed to complete tasks, and to assess when a deadline cannot be met
  • Reliability in meeting deadlines; ability to juggle multiple tasks as priorities shift, while still meeting deadlines
  • Excellent follow-through, ensuring tasks are never left half-done
  • Self-resourcing, asking questions when you don’t know the answer or the way to do something
  • Proactive communication with peers and managers about status, issues, and more; reaching out as needed to keep moving forward on tasks
  • Humble and honest about making mistakes — understands that honesty is most important to developing trust and giving managers the ability to help with situations that have gone wrong

HOW YOU WILL BE PAID

This position will start as a freelance position, paid at the following rates:

  • 80 INR for scale images – adding a ruler or mm/inch measurement graphics on top of an image
  • 100 INR for putting jewelry onto a model image, or recoloring jewelry products (metal or gemstones)
  • 150 INR for creating banner images for product page enhanced content
  • 500 INR for infographics, size charts, logo creation, and other more complex images

After several months to test your performance, if we like your work, we will hire you full-time.
