New Delhi: Bhupender Yadav, the Union Minister for the Environment, took part in a session at the COP 27 conference in Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt, on “Accelerating Resilient Infrastructure in Small Island Developing States (SIDS)”. In his remarks at the session, Mr. Yadav declared that India is committed to both domestic and international action on climate change.

In response to the plea to save the world that supports humanity, he declared that India would continue to combat all environmental issues on a global scale. In a changing climatic regime, he asserted, the Indian Government is steadfastly dedicated to defending the interests of SIDS.

According to him, India’s emissions are still around one-third of the global average when measured against per capita emissions for an objective scale of comparison.
