Bengaluru hosts the inauguration of India’s first 3D-printed post office building by Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw.

Bengaluru: The first 3D printed post office building in India was dedicated today in Bengaluru by Union Minister of Railways, Communications and IT Ashwini Vaishnaw. The Bengaluru post office building made use of 3D printing technology and technological know-how from L&T and IIT Madras. The building made of 3D-printed concrete is affordable, uses less building material waste, is environmentally benign, and can be built more quickly thanks to its innovative design options. In her remarks, minister Ashwini Vaishnaw called the audience’s attention to the Prime Minister’s steadfast efforts to indigenously develop cutting-edge technologies.

He pointed out that 4G and 5G technology were developed in India today. India is now producing telecom equipment for the first time. It has demonstrated to the world that India is capable of creating trains of the same calibre as Vande Bharat. The minister urged Indians to be proud of the world-class features on the Vande Bharat train. Later, when speaking to the media, the minister claimed that 4000 kilometres of railway track had been renovated to accommodate the rapid trains. The capacity of the tracks will increase over the next four to five years, allowing for the operation of more Vande Bharat trains.
