The government of Haryana gave government employees and their dependents a substantial gift in the form of a cashless health facility for the new year. Under the Ayushman Yojana, Governor Bandaru Dattatreya officially opened the cashless health facility. On this occasion, Chief Minister Manohar Lal was in attendance. During the inaugural ceremony, the Governor and the Chief Minister also gave the recipients symbolic Ayushman cards.

The state government introduced the programme as a trial programme in November of last year, according to an official spokesman. Initially, it covered workers from the departments of horticulture and fisheries, but it has since been expanded to include all regular government employees.

The programme covers all forms of indoor treatments and daycare procedures, meeting the needs for health care, in addition to six life-threatening cardiac emergencies, cerebral haemorrhage, coma, electric shock, third and fourth-stage cancer patients, and any kind of accident as per the existing provisions.
