Anurag Singh Thakur will inaugurate the national Kabaddi tournament at Udupi.

Udupi: Anurag Singh Thakur, Union Minister for Information and Broadcasting, Youth Affairs, and Sports, will launch the National Level Kabaddi Championship in Udupi, Karnataka, this evening, in honour of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s birthday.

Twelve teams from various states will compete in the national level Kabaddi event that will be conducted in the MGM grounds under the lighting of floodlights. The Atal trophy and one lakh rupees in prize money will go to the winner.

In the temple town of Udupi, Mr. Thakur will also dedicate the Sports Science Centre. The Center, which cost two crore rupees to create, would treat athletes and aid in improving their physical and mental capabilities.
