New Delhi: As part of the Amrit Bharat Station initiative, the Railways plans to update its stations. According to this plan, stations will be continuously developed with a long-term outlook. The plan will take into account the addition of new amenities as well as their improvement and replacement.
The Railways Ministry states that this programme will also apply to stations where thorough techno-economic feasibility studies have been or are being done, but where work on building Roof Plazas has not yet begun. The plan, according to the Ministry, intends to transfer obsolete or ageing buildings in an economical way to free up space for enhancing passenger services.
