New Delhi: President Droupadi Murmu will present “Bhoomi Samman” 2023 in New Delhi on july 18 tuesday. Nine State Secretaries and 68 District Collectors will receive the Bhoomi Samman, together with their teams, for their outstanding efforts in completing the key objectives of the Digital India Land Records Modernization Programme.
Minister for Rural Development and Panchayati Raj Giriraj Singh noted the importance of this occasion for the State’s Revenue and Registration functionaries, who would be awarded the “Bhoomi Samman” for the first time in the past 75 years for their exceptional achievement. He added that the “Bhoomi Samman” Scheme is an excellent illustration of Center-State cooperative federalism built on partnership and confidence.
The evaluation process is mostly based on the reports and contributions made by the States and UTs regarding the essential elements of computerising and digitising land records. The Minister further stated that the process of digitising land records and registration will assist in reducing the significant backlog of land dispute court cases and the GDP loss to the nation’s economy as a result of project delays.
