68th National Film Awards will be presented by President Droupadi Murmu.

New Delhi: The 68th National Film Awards will be given out this evening in New Delhi by President Droupadi Murmu. Legendary actress Asha Parekh will get the Dadasaheb Phalke Award in 2020 for her outstanding lifetime contribution to Indian cinema.

The Tamil film Soorarai Pottru will receive the best Feature Film award. Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior, a movie in Hindi, will win an award for most popular movie offering satisfying entertainment. Testimony of Ana, a non-feature film in the Dangi language, will get the prize for best non-feature film. Funeral, a marathi film, will win Best Film on Social Issues.

For the movies Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior and Soorarai Pottru, Ajay Devgan and Suriya will be honoured as Best Actors. For Soorarai Pottru, Aparna Balamurali will receive the Best Actress Award. The Malayalam movie AK Ayyappanum Koshiyum’s best director award will go to Sachidanandan K R. The Marathi movie Sumi will get the prize for best kid’s movie. Manoj Muntashir will receive recognition for Saina’s best lyrics, which are in Hindi.

For the Marathi film Mi Vasantrao, Rahul Deshpande will receive the award for Best Male Playback Singer, and Nanchamma will receive the award for Best Female Playback Singer for the Malayalam film AK Ayyappanum Koshiyum. Taledanda, a Kannada film, will win the prize for best environmental preservation and conservation film. For the Bengali movie Avijatrik, Supratim Bhol will win Best Cinematography.
