TVS Apache RTR 165 RP Launched; Priced At ₹ 1.45 Lakh

TVS Motor Company has announced the launch of the new Race Performance (RP) series of products, and has launched the new TVS Apache RTR 165 RP, the first product under the new series. The company’s Race Performance series has been inspired from TVS Racing’s race machine lineage, TVS Motor Company said in a statement. The Race Performance series will be introduced in the TVS Apache series of motorcycles, and the new Apache RTR 165 RP will be sold online, to be limited to just 200 units.

The TVS Apache RTR 165 RP is powered by an advanced 164.9 cc, single-cylinder 4-valve engine that puts out 19 bhp at 10,000 rpm and 14.2 Nm at 8,750 rpm. According to TVS, the new Apache RTR 165 RP’s performance has been achieved with using several new technological innovations. The bike gets a new cylinder head with a 35 per cent increase in intake and twin electrode spark plug. The valves are 15 per cent bigger and are controlled by hi-lift, hi-duration cams and dual spring actuators for racier engine performance. A revised bore stroke ratio of 13.7 allows free-revving to the 10,000 rpm redline. A new dome piston has been introduced for a higher compression ratio.

The TVS Apache RTR 165 RP’s engine is mated to a slick-shifting 5-speed gearbox and it also features a race-tuned slipper clutch, and adjustable clutch and brake levers. There are all-new TVS Racing decals, red alloy wheels and a new seat pattern. The motorcycle comes with a new headlamp assembly with the front position lamps (FPL) simultaneously functioning with low and high beam operations. The Apache RTR 165 RP is also equipped with a first-in-segment 240 mm rear disc brake offering superior braking performance.
