New Delhi: The Prime Ministers’ Museum and Library Society has replaced New Delhi’s Nehru Memorial Museum and Library Society (NMML). Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, who serves as the NMML Society’s Vice-President, presided over a special meeting during which a decision in this regard was made.

In his speech, Mr. Singh expressed support for the proposal to rename the institution, noting that in its new form, it displays the achievements of all prime ministers, from Jawaharlal Nehru to Narendra Modi, as well as their responses to the many difficulties they have faced. Mr. Singh stressed that all the colours of a rainbow must be proportionately represented for it to be beautiful, describing prime ministers as an institution and equating the tenure of different prime ministers to the variety of hues in a rainbow.

Nripendra Misra, the chairman of the NMML Executive Council, emphasised that the Prime Ministers’ Museum demonstrates the country’s strong dedication to democracy in order to justify the necessity for a name change.
