The Aatmanirbhar Bharat Rozgar Yojana (ABRY), a cutting-edge programme from the Central Government to encourage job creation, has outperformed its initial employment generating targets, demonstrating its effectiveness in promoting job creation and recovery amid the COVID-19 epidemic.

In a statement, the Ministry of Labour and Employment stated that the scheme’s goal was to assist 7.18 million employees nationwide by the time registration for it expired in March 2022. Additionally, the programme has already enrolled more than 7.58 million new workers as of July 31 2023, exceeding its initial employment generation goal.

The Ministry emphasised that a total of 60 lakh 44 thousand 155 new employees and one lakh 52 thousand and 380 establishments have taken advantage of the benefits offered by the ABRY scheme, totaling nine thousand six hundred 69 crore and 87 lakh rupees.
