India is “completely satisfied” with the outcome of the 13th WTO ministerial meeting, viewing it as “good” since it maintains its entire policy space to safeguard the interests of farmers and fishermen in every way. Following the five-day conference of the trade ministers of the 166 members of the World Trade Organization (WTO), Piyush Goyal, the minister of commerce and industry, made these remarks while speaking with reporters in Abu Dhabi.

Piyush Goyal, the minister, also stated that there are no obstacles in the way of New Delhi’s ongoing supply of food grains to the underprivileged. The negotiations, which were meant to complete on February 29th, were postponed by one day since the participants could not agree on important matters including subsidies for agriculture and fisheries. Concerns including finding a long-term solution for the public food stockpile and reducing fisheries subsidies were left unresolved during the WTO’s ministerial session. Nonetheless, the members decided to add an additional two years to the ban on applying import tariffs on e-commerce transactions.
