The government has extended the deadline for online National Panchayat Awards nominations until Sunday.

New Delhi: In an effort to increase the participation of Gram Panchayats, the Ministry of Panchayati Raj has extended the deadline for online nominations for the National Panchayat Awards to tomorrow. The Ministry made this choice in light of the enthusiastic participation of Gram Panchayats in the online application process, which reached a level of about 91 percent.

As of November 18th, 2,45,426 Gram Panchayats had submitted applications for participation in the award out of a total of 2,68,711 Gram Panchayats across the nation. The remaining Gram Panchayats are supposed to have the option of applying via the website

The redesigned National Panchayat Awards are crucial in raising awareness of the Sustainable Development Goals among Panchayats and in establishing a timetable for its localisation and accomplishment. From 2023 on, these prizes will be presented in accordance with nine themes for the localization of the Sustainable Development Goals, totaling 17 SDGs.
