Nagaland: The eagerly anticipated 23rd iteration of the Hornbill Festival of Nagaland will get underway in Kisama’s Naga Heritage Village. The opening ceremony of the festival’s main event, the Hornbill festival, will feature Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar as the chief guest at four today evening.

Prof. Jagdish Mukhi will serve as the primary host, and Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio will host. Following the inauguration ceremony, “This is Nagaland” will be a cultural presentation. Co-branding initiatives are being carried out, such as the G20 Logo being exhibited at the Naga heritage village, as India assumes the G20 presidency today, December 1, which also falls on the occasion of the statehood day for Nagaland and the start of the hornbill festival. All programme books, banners, cutouts, and advertising items bear the G20 emblem.

The Government of Nagaland sponsors the Hornbill Festival, which highlights the ethnic diversity, rich cultural legacy, and enduring traditions of Nagaland. The festival is also a celebration of the giant hornbill, which the Naga people adore and revere for its vigilance and grandeur.
