Supreme Court’s Constitution benches will begin streaming live proceedings today

New Delhi: The Supreme Court’s Constitution bench hearings will start today and be livestreamed. Watch the proceedings on the Supreme Court’s website at webcast.gov.in/scindia.

Three Constitutional benches will convene to hear issues including appeals of the Centre’s decision to give a 10% quota for the EWS group in admissions and employment, the political unrest in Maharashtra, and the management of administrative services in Delhi.

The EWS quota case will be the subject of hearings before a five-judge panel presided over by Chief Justice of India UU Lalit. A panel presided over by Justice DY Chandrachud will hear the petitions submitted on behalf of the Eknath Shinde group and the Uddhav Thackeray camp regarding the Maharashtra political crisis. While a panel presided over by Justice Sanjay Kishan Kaul will hear the Delhi government’s argument over the thorny question of who should be in charge of managing administrative services in Delhi and officer transfers and postings in the nation’s capital.
