It can be frustrating to board a flight, arrive, and then spend time waiting in line for a cab. To tackle this, budget carrier SpiceJet has announced mid-flight cab bookings via the in-flight entertainment service.

Promising 100 per cent guaranteed bookings and no cancellation charges, SpiceJet’s “Mid-air cab booking” scheme is reportedly the first-of-its-kind in India.

The company tweeted the steps needed for how to book a cab mid-flight, as below:

“Want to know how to make a stylish entry in Delhi? ๐Ÿ˜Ž Introducing Mid-air cab bookings for your convenience & safety!

โ€œWith our latest offering, passengers will no longer have to carry their luggage to the cab departure area besides enjoying zero waiting time as cabs will now be available for them right outside the arrival gate,” said Ajay Singh, Chairman and Managing Director, SpiceJet, PTI reported.

The cab fares would be fixed as per kilometres and can be checked on the booking page.

The move comes as airlines try to attract passengers back to pre-COVID levels. SpiceJet shares on Thursday rose by over 5.5 per cent on top of reports that India may soon unban the grounded Boeing 737-MAX, of which SpiceJet is the only desi carrier to have on order.
