New Delhi: The Ministry of Finance will launch a special campaign from October 15 to October 26 in an effort to strengthen the nation’s foundation for financial inclusion. In seven districts throughout the nation, the campaign would initially be implemented at the Gram Panchayat level. They are Barpeta in Assam, Datia in Madhya Pradesh, Kakinada in Andhra Pradesh, Aurangabad and Pune in Maharashtra, Cuttack in Odisha, Kaushambi in Uttar Pradesh, and Aurangabad in Maharashtra.

The goal of the campaign, according to a tweet from the office of the Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, is to reach saturation in terms of bank accounts, insurance, and pension plans for qualified individuals. It will also focus on providing loans to farmer produce organisations and self-help groups to build cold-chain infrastructure.

Additionally, it will focus on increasing the penetration of MUDRA and Kisan Credit Cards for those working in the dairy, fishing, and farming industries as well as including Self Help Group members in the country’s financial system. The financial inclusion programme would also include mobile and Aadhaar seeding of existing accounts, with a focus on turning small accounts into standard accounts by performing comprehensive KYC.
