Chris Morris pulled off a tricky run chase in the death overs batting at No. 8. Rajasthan Royals beat Delhi Capitals by three wickets with two balls to spare. Morris struck four huge sixes in his 18-ball 36 to help RR register their first victory in the tournament. Chasing a total of 148 at Wankhede Stadium, RR’s run chase got off to a horrific start as they lost both their openers and skipper Sanju Samson in powerplay overs. David Miller revived the run chase with his 43-ball 62 whereas Morris and Unadkat finished the run chase taking on DC’s fast bowlers.

Earlier Samson won the toss and elected to field first. DC post a modest total of 147/8. The credit goes to Jaydev Unadkat who struck thrice with the new ball in powerplay overs getting the wickets of Shikhar Dhawan, Prithivi Shaw and Ajinkya Rahane. Rishabh Pant tried to help Delhi recover from the top order collapse. After Marcus Stoinis’ wicket, Pant stitched a 51-run partnership with debutant Lalit Yadav. Pant scored a half-century and got run out, thanks to direct hit from Riyan Parag. Tom Curran and Chris Woakes tried to get big runs in the death overs. Curran scored 16-ball 21 whereas Woakes remained unbeaten for 15 from 11 deliveries. Ravichandran Ashwin and Kagiso Rabada contributed with their single-digit scores as well. Apart from Unadkat, Mustafizur Rahman took wickets and Chris Morris got one wicket.
