R Venkataramani, a senior attorney, has been appointed as India’s new attorney general.

New Delhi: The new Attorney General of India is seasoned attorney R Venkataramani. The President has appointed Mr. Venkataramani as the new Attorney General for a term of three years beginning on October 1st, according to an announcement from the Ministry of Law and Justice. Mr. K. K. Venugopal, whose term ends tomorrow, will be replaced by him.

Following his selection as India’s new attorney general, Mr. Venkataramani expressed his gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, and Union Law Minister Kiren Rijiju for their trust in him to do this important job.
