Parliament will hold its winter session from December 7 to 29: Pralhad Joshi

New Delhi: The schedule for the forthcoming Winter Session of Parliament was unveiled by Pralhad Joshi, Minister of Union Parliamentary Affairs. That the winter session of the legislature will run from December 7 to December 29.

In his tweet, “The Winter Session of Parliament in 2022 will begin on December 7 and run for 23 days, with 17 sittings total. During Amrit Kaal, discussions on legislative business and other topics are anticipated. looking forward to a productive discussion.”

Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar, who chairs the Rajya Sabha, will preside over proceedings in the Upper House for the first time during this session. While the opposition will call for a discussion on urgent issues, the government will compile a list of Bills to be passed during the upcoming session.

The contentious Sedition Law amendment would be the most talked-about bill submitted during the Winter Session. On November 1, the Modi administration warned the Supreme Court that the approaching Winter Session of Parliament may see revisions to the sedition laws.
