Only education has the power to transform a whole country: Droupadi Murmu

New Delhi: Only education can effect a national transformation said by Pre. She was speaking at Doon University in Dehradun’s third convocation. The President stated that in order for the nation to move toward becoming self-sufficient, students’ commitment is required. The mother tongue should not be lost, she said, adding that there is no harm in studying every language in the globe. She continued, “Our mother tongue is the one thing that makes us unique.

The President remarked that although the British dominated us for a long time, today India is the focus of attention due to the Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam idea. Appreciating the teaching of foreign and local languages at Doon University, she said, Doon University will always have to be ready to do better human resources. The President noted that the establishment of the Demographic Research Center in the University is a good step.

President Draupadi Murmu was seen off from Dehradun by Governor Lt. Gen. Gurmeet Singh (Retd.) at Jollygrant Airport. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami and other dignitaries were present during the send-off.
