The proposal to rename Ayodhya Airport as Maharishi Valmiki International Airport, Ayodhyadham, and to make it an international airport has been approved by the Union Cabinet. Realising Ayodhya’s economic potential and its significance as a worldwide pilgrimage site would depend on elevating Ayodhya Airport to international status and welcoming tourists and pilgrims from throughout the world. The airport’s name, Maharishi Valmiki International Airport, Ayodhyadham, honours the sage who is said to have written the epic Ramayana, giving the airport’s identity a touch of culture.

The signing of a Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation in the hydrocarbon sector between the Ministry of Natural Resources, Guyana, and the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas was also approved by the Union Cabinet. The Memorandum of Understanding encompasses the entire hydrocarbon value chain, encompassing the procurement of crude oil from Guyana, the involvement of Indian enterprises in the country’s exploration and production sector, collaboration in the domains of crude oil refining and capacity creation.

The United States for International Development/India (USAID/India) and India signed a Memorandum of Understanding in June of last year to support Indian Railways in achieving Mission Net Zero Carbon Emission by 2030. This information was brought to the attention of the Union Cabinet.
