Kochi: A plea filed by a lawyer protesting the Governor’s decision to keep the bills passed by the State Legislative Assembly on hold indefinitely was today dismissed by a Division Bench of the Kerala High Court.

The Chief Justice S Manikumar and Justice Shaji P Chaly-led bench ruled that the court could not set a deadline for the Governor to act on the proposals.

In his argument, the attorney noted that the Governor has been considering a number of proposals for some time. He said that neither the Governor had granted his approval nor had he sent it back for revision. The attorney further emphasised that the Governor had the alternative of sending the measures to the President of India for review, but that option had not been taken.
