New Delhi: Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation, IRCTC, has been granted liberty by the Ministry of Railways to alter the menu of food products offered in trains to include local and regional cuisines. Additionally, it offers food products catered to the preferences of various passenger groups, such as selections for diabetics, babies, and healthy eaters.

According to a statement from the Ministry of Railways, the IRCTC will choose the menu for “prepaid” trains, in which catering costs are already included in the passenger fee. IRCTC will choose the budget segment menu items for other Mail and Express trains within the already announced fixed rate. The Janta Meals’ menu and price, however, won’t alter.
