Amitabh Kant, the G20 Sherpa, stated that India’s G20 presidency would strive to be open, aspirational, definite, and action-oriented. He claimed that the concept of “One World, One Family, and One Future,” which emphasises the necessity of group action and shared objectives, also captures the heart of India’s president. These statements were expressed by Mr. Kant in an article he authored titled “The Path Ahead: India and G20” that appeared in the Mann ki Baat booklet of the November 2022 issue. According to him, the G20 leadership has always been a position of high honour and greater responsibility. The G20 accounts for 85% of the global GDP. As the world’s fifth-largest economy and a powerful moral force, India, as per Mr. Kant.

He claimed that holding the G20 presidency, which represents 85% of the global GDP, has always been a position of high honour and greater responsibility. As the world’s fifth-largest economy and a powerful moral force, India, according to Mr. Kant, has assumed the G20 leadership. In order to foster greater cooperation, he said, India will work to establish itself as a link between developed and developing nations. He continued by saying that it offers the chance to seize opportunities out of obstacles, particularly in areas where combined national and international efforts are made.

According to Mr. Kant, India would prioritise Mission “LIFE” (Lifestyle for Environment), financing for the SDGs, green energy transitions, food security and maintaining dependable supply chains for both food and energy, as well as digital transformation, during its G20 presidency.
