Giridhar Aramane, the secretary of defense, has emphasized that since the nation cannot rely on others, independence is essential for the infrastructure development in the defense sector.
Aramane stated, “Atmanirbharta is not merely a slogan; it is crucial for the economic development of the nation,” during the opening session of the DRDO’s National Symposium and Exhibition today in New Delhi. According to him, self-sufficiency lowers infrastructure’s initial capital costs.
Aramane asserted that the nation could not rely on others and that there is no reliable ally in geopolitics, citing the example of the US’s delayed aid to Ukraine. He also underlined how important it is for the defense industry to have cutting-edge, technologically advanced equipment.
He declared that this forum, the first of its kind, will bring together all the relevant parties to talk about and provide technologically advanced options for infrastructure development.
