CHIEF MINISTER SHRI.PINARAYI VIJAYAN PAID TRIBUTE TO THE 1971 WAR HEROES AT PANGODE WAR MEMORIAL

The Hon’ble Chief Minister of Kerala received the Victory Flame (Swarnim Vijay Mashaal) from Brigadier Katik Seshadri, Station Commander, Pangode Military Station at Pangode War Memorial,  today (10 July).  The Chief Minister paid tribute to the 1971 War heroes by laying wreath at the memorial, as part of Golden Jubilee Celebrations of India’s victory over Pakistan in 1971 war.  He also interacted with Veterans and dependents of 1971 war heroes.

Dr.V.P Joy, IAS, the Chief Secretary of Kerala, Shri.Anil Kant  IPS, DGP, Shri.Balram Kumar Upadhy  IPS, Commissioner of Police and Brigadier Kartik Seshadri, Pangode Station Commander will also laid wreath and paid homage to the war heroes.  Senior Officials and Soldiers from Pangode Military Stations attended the event. 
 
The function began with Salami Shastra’ saluting the martyrs followed byShoka Shastra’.    
 
The Mashaal (Victory Flame) was thereafter handed over to Cdr Sivasankar of the Indian Navy who will carry forward the torch to Kanyakumari on its further journey.
