India took advantage of the occasion to showcase its strong economy and reputation as a reliable country at the World Economic Forum Annual Meeting 2024, which concluded in Davos, Switzerland. Speaking at various sessions, RBI Governor Shaktikanta Das predicted a 7% GDP growth for the upcoming fiscal year, Union Minister Smriti Irani highlighted inclusive growth, and Cabinet colleague Hardeep Singh Puri declared that India has already seized the moment. Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw advocated for “trust-shoring,” describing India as the most trusted country and having a resilient economy.

Nearly 3,000 world leaders engaged in rigorous five days of deliberations across a wide range of regional and global concerns. The meetings concluded with optimism that commerce and the global economy would improve in 2024 and that solutions would be found for the numerous crises afflicting the world. Collaboration was requested in order to combat threats resulting from climate change, societal fragmentation, artificial intelligence (AI)-generated misinformation, and disinformation, as well as to rebuild trust, revive the economy, and put a stop to geopolitical crises.
