New Delhi: India Post Payments Bank has warned its clients against online scams. The warning was issued as a result of an increase in numerous fraudulent activities, wherein criminals open fictitious bank accounts in the names of villagers, tribal members, and less educated individuals under the pretence that account holders will receive financial benefits from various government programmes.
Bank account holders should exercise caution when disclosing personal information to strangers, the Communications Ministry stated in a release. Without the actual account users’ knowledge, these accounts are utilised for shady financial activities in a variety of online crimes.
