New Delhi: The divide between North East India and the rest of India, as per Union Home Minister Amit Shah, has been closed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. According to him, the efforts of the Narendra Modi administration have brought about calm in the region of the North East. At the 400th anniversary celebration of the birth of the Ahom general Lachit Barphukan in New Delhi, Mr. Shah requested the Assam Chief Minister to order the translation of the Lachit Barphukan literature into at least 10 other languages. The bravery of Lachit, he continued, should be known by the citizens of our nation.
The Home Minister also requested that history students conduct research on 30 dynasties that had ruled various regions of the nation for at least 150 years. He asserted that it is now necessary to review the path of history in order to forward the interests of the populace. Lachit’s contribution to preventing the Mughals’ progress was acknowledged by Mr. Shah, who said that despite his poor health, he still managed to win the battle of Sariaghat. On this occasion, he also launched a Lachit documentary.
Sarbananda Sonowal, the Union Minister for AYUSH, addressed the crowd on this occasion and stated that 130 crore people in the nation would be able to learn about Lachit Barphukan thanks to this initiative. According to Mr. Sonowal, Lachit Barphukan’s ideas and deeds would inspire the future generation.
