New Delhi: India and France discussed their joint efforts in the fields of trade, investment, civil nuclear power, and new economic ventures. On the fringes of the G20 Summit, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and President Emmanuel Macron of France met in Bali. Both leaders talked about local and international news.
Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong of Singapore and Mr. Modi spoke on a one-on-one basis as well. They talked about ways to increase India-Singapore cooperation in areas like the green economy, renewable energy, financial technology, and strengthening trade ties. Singapore is a crucial tenet of India’s Act East programme, according to Mr. Modi.
The German Chancellor, Olaf Scholz, and the Prime Minister also met and spoke about ways to strengthen trade ties, joint defence projects, and other crucial matters. This was their third meeting this year, according to a tweet from Mr. Modi, and they built on the solid footing established during the preceding Inter-Governmental Consultations.
In a meeting with Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, he also discussed ways for the two countries to cooperate closely in the fields of energy, defence, culture, and promoting climate change. According to Mr. Modi, they also discussed measures to strengthen the bilateral economic relationship.
