Department of Telecommunications declared 6.80 lakh mobile connections to be invalid and fraudulent. The operators have been instructed by the agency to re-verify these identified cellphone numbers right now. It is required of all Telecommunications Service Providers to recheck the connections that have been identified within 60 days. It stated that the affected mobile numbers will be disconnected if the re-verification is not completed.
