New Delhi: The Centre has authorised providing Gujarat, which was badly damaged by Cyclone Biparjoy, with financial support of more than 338 crore rupees. The National Disaster Response Fund (NDRF) has authorised an additional financial assistance of around 634 crore rupees to the Home Ministry for Himachal Pradesh. The state was severely devastated by landslides, cloudbursts, and floods during this year’s southwest monsoon. The Ministry stated in a statement that the Gujarati government and the federal government had taken advanced measures and attained a zero casualty rate under the direction of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

It further stated that the Inter-Ministerial Central Team (IMCT) was dispatched right away following Cyclone Biparjoy to examine the damages, without waiting for the State Government’s Memorandum. The State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) had previously received the first installment of the Central Government’s share, which totaled 584 crore rupees.

The Ministry further stated that without waiting for the Himachal Pradesh government’s memorandum, an Inter-Ministerial Central Team for the evaluation of the damages was also dispatched. It stated that in August of this year, 200 crore rupees were also provided ahead of schedule from the NDRF to assist Himachal Pradesh in overseeing the emergency relief efforts. The Centre previously gave the SDRF access to both of its share, which came to a total of more than 360 crore rupees.
