The first meeting of the national task force for medical professionals’ safety and security took place

The National Task Force, established by the Supreme Court to offer recommendations about the security, safety, and working conditions of medical professionals, will convene for the first time today. According to sources, New Delhi will host the gathering.

The Cabinet Secretary of the Government of India will chair the meeting. Union Home Secretary, National Medical Commission Chairperson, Vice Admiral R. Sarin, Surgeon, Director AIIMS, Dr. M. Shreenivas, and Dr. Padma Srivastava, a former professor at AIIMS’s Department of Neurology, are among the task force’s members.

The national task force to safeguard the protection of medical workers was established by the supreme court during its hearing of the case involving the rape and murder of a doctor at the RG Kar Medical College and Hospital in Kolkata. The task team was instructed by the Supreme Court to turn in its interim report in three weeks and its final report in two months.
